Shah Rukh Khan isn’t called “King Khan” for nothing. Since his early days, he has taken up myriad roles, challenged conventions and tried to experiment, even after being typecast in romantic roles. We all saw “Raees”, didn’t we?

Now, he has returned with another interesting project, slated to release by the end of this year. The upcoming movie Zero stars SRK with two of his former leading ladies- Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. The teaser is out and so are the first pictures. Here’s what we know about Zero so far –

Technical Know-how:

Reportedly, Katrina Kaif stated that she has full faith on SRK because he is looking after the technical details. As we could see in the teaser, Khan plays a dwarf in the film and that could not have been possible without graphics, VFX and CGI. And as always, King Khan has ensured that the best talent in the industry looks after it.

Varied Characters:

In Anushka Sharma upcoming movie Zero, she will portray the role of a girl suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This is the first time Anushka will essay the role of a person suffering from a chronic condition. It remains to be seen how true to life her performance will be on screen.

Conceived in 2012:

The film has been written by Himanshu Sharma and directed by Anand L. Rai. It is jointly produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Colour Yellow Productions. Anand L. Rai`s Zero, he had conceived this project back in 2012. Going by the teaser, it is no surprise that the film took 6 years to be finalised. Rai announced the project in 2016.

Superhero Angle:

Anand L. Rai stated that the idea came to him after he saw Krrish. But, he wishes to do something different and more realistic than making the hero fly off buildings like Hollywood superheroes. Although he said he appreciated Krrish’s success, he felt that wasn’t very “us. Apart from our mythological demigods, Indians aren’t ready for superheroes, we are still short in height. That’s what made me want to live life from the perspective of a dwarf (sic)”.

Katrina Meri Jaan:

Yes, that was the original title of the film. It was scrapped since the makers felt that the audience might get misdirected thinking it was all about Katrina Kaif. After all, the film has another leading lady too! Though the film is a romantic drama, all the characters have important angles to contribute. After much debating, the name was finalized to “Zero”.
